As we continued in our journey Josiah was
healed and grew stronger every day. I don’t think that to this date any day could compare to the day that he came home. Those 10 days were full of nights that were restless and days with tearful goodbyes. But God is good and His will is perfect. Through this time He taught
us many things and showed Himself
to be powerful and mighty. Through one of the most difficult times in my life I felt His peace and protection around us through it all. He had prepared us in ways for this time even without us realizing what He was doing. One way in which he revealed to me that nothing is a surprise to Him happened the night before Josiah was born. Joe and I had yet to decide on a name for the baby if it was indeed a boy. We were sitting on the couch knowing that time was not on our side to make this decision and once again flipping through the baby name book. Joe found the name “Josiah” and we both fell in love with it. We quickly agreed to shut the book but not before we read the meaning of the name. His name means “God supports”. Little did I know that less than 12 hours later I would have to cling to that promise of “God supporting him” while my newborn son was flown by helicopter almost 50 miles away. Since this time Josiah has grown and his health has been strong. We have had a few bumps in the road this first year but nothing out of the ordinary for a family of 5. Josiah grows every day and is such a joy in our lives. He is changing and learning all the time and I know that there is much more of this story to write in the future.
Josiah is such a wonderful blessing to me! His name means “God Supports” and God did support you and your family during that horrible trying time in your life. Now I can’t help but wonder who God will choose for Josiah to support in his life ahead. How will his life help others see God’s wonderful ways? How will Josiah be a wonderful blessing to countless others? I can’t wait to find out!!!
