Fingerprints

When I meet someone or come into contact with them in this life what kind of fingerprints do I leave behind? I am not talking about physical fingerprints. I am talking about spiritual ones. A fingerprint is only made when we touch something. Do I “touch” others for Christ when I meet them. Whether it be a close friend, a family member, or even the cashier at the store do I take time to “touch” them for eternity? When I walk away from someone what are they taking away from me?

Our fingerprints our left everywhere we have been. They are unique to us and different from everyone else in the world. So, when God looks at the fingerprints we have left is He pleased? Are they prints of His love and mercy or are they prints of anger and bitterness for the world or His children?

Do we slow down enough in this fast paced society to “touch” people or are we in too big of a hurry with our own agendas? To leave a finger print you have to make contact, slow down and “touch” someone or something, and to leave a lasting fingerprint we have to take the time to love. If our “fingerprints” are going to make a difference in this world they have to be done with the love of Christ pouring from us.

So, what do people take away from you? Are your fingerprints filled with Christ in a way that will forever leave a mark on some one’s life? I am praying that when I come into contact with someone, no matter for how long, Christ is seen in me and that the “fingerprint” they take away from me will draw them closer to Christ and His love for them.

We touch so many people every day in this life. Our kids, our spouse, our co-workers, our friends, our church family, and even strangers are “touched” by our attitudes and actions. Lord, may they glorify You!

Father, help us to leave “fingerprints” for You all over this world. Help us to be so filled with Your love and Spirit that others are forever changed when we meet them. I pray that our “fingerprints” are those of Christ and are filled with His love. Help my attitude and actions be of pure motive and a right spirit. Thank you Father for the ways that You work in our lives. We love You and will strive to live for You. Amen!
Philippians 1:20-22 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!
