If you didn’t see my announcement on Facebook around the first of the month, we will be welcoming our 6th child into our home in August 2013. We are all very excited. The sides have been choosen and everyone has made sure to put in the “request” for a certain gender. I am almost 10 weeks into this pregnancy so I thought it was time for an update. I write these posts for those that are curious but also so that I can go back and look at them in years to come and have a journal of this time with this baby. So, just bear with me as I document this part of my journey as a mother.

Week 9.5

How I feel –

The first few weeks were rough and I was super sick and tired. But that might have been due to the flu virus we had in the house. Now, I actually feel a little bad for how good I am feeling. As long as I make sure I drink lots of liquid and eat a LOT of protien I sometimes forget I am even carrying a baby. This is totally not normal for me so I am striving to embrace it while at the same time feeling a little guilty. This just feel too easy. I am not really showing yet though some of my more fitted clothes are getting snug.

The Baby –

The baby is due on August 18th and right now is about an inch and a half long. I had my first ultrasound this week and baby measured right on track. The heartbeat was in the 170’s and seemed good and strong.

What is my focus right now –

I am stocking the freezer with meals for the days that I don’t feel good. I am also doing lots and lots of school with the children. Here is Missouri we can log our hours from July 1st to June 30th each year. My plan right now is to do as much as we can between now and the end of April. Then we will take a short break with only light school in May and June and then start our 2013-2014 year on July 1st. That way we can get a good six weeks under our belts before the baby comes.
