Are you tired of buying chemical laden soaps that you don’t even know what is in them? Paying a lot of money for heavily scented products that it is hard to tell if they clean or just scent your clothing? Well, in an effort to try to rid my home of commercially made cleaners I set out to find a laundry soap that was easy to make and cleaned my clothing well. And I think I might have actually found it. For years I used homemade liquid laundry soap but I hated how messy it was to make and mix and then measure for each load, I really wanted to find a way to make homemade powder laundry soap. And this is the recipe I now use.
1 cup Borax
1 cup Arm and Hammer WASHING Soda (not baking soda)
1 bar Felths-Neptha (grated)
I use my food processor to grate my soap first. Then I put on the blade attachment and process the soap until it is a fine powder.
After I have my desired consistency I add in the Borax and Washing Soda and pulse a few times to get it all good and incorporated.
And that is it!! I pour it into my bucket and I use one tablespoon per load for normal loads and two tablespoons for heavily soiled loads in my large capacity HE washer.
Really want to try this
