So serious |
If I had a quarter for every time someone asked me how I do all that I do I would be wealthy and could hire a servant and not do near as much. But, alas, I don’t have a quarter for each time and so I continue to do it all. I minister at church, I am secretary for my husband, I am teacher and mother to my five children, I garden, and I am house keeper to my home.
So, how DO I get it all done? How do I keep my energy up? Here are a few of my tips……
Excited to see the duckies!! |
- Lots of water (fluid). Even on my off days where I don’t choose water enough I drink all day long. I feel better and have more energy and less headaches if I stay hydrated. It sounds simple but you should really try it. Just start with drinking at least 4 cups of ice water each day. It takes caloies to warm up the water inside your body so it helps with wieght loss too!!
- Vitamin C – Take 1,000 mg of vitamin C and watch your energy level soar!!! It takes just a minute to open the bottle and take the chewable tablets.
- Lots and lots of protien – I try to eat something like two eggs for breakfast each morning. The protien keeps your blood sugar level unlike carbs and keeps your mind more focused and your energy up much more through out the day.
- Down Time – I take short breaks through out the day to rest my body and my mind while I drink some of my water and maybe read to the kids, write a blog post, or check my email. It helps me to keep going throughout the day.
- Lists – I write everything on a list. I don’t have to think about what comes next. I just look at the list and move swiftly from one item to the next. It cuts out many distractions and lowers the time that I spend “aimlessly” trying to decide what to do next.
- Break it Down – I try to choose about 5 main goals for each day. If I get more done great. But at the end of the day if those five are done I can finish my day feeling accomplished and not overwhelemed with what is still on my to do list.
Could they look any more alike? |
What are some of the things that you use to help you stay “in the game” and “get it all done”? I would love to hear your tips. Life is busy and we must be intentional about using our time wisely and not being distracted by too many things.
My big fisherman! |
Have you found any good ways that help you to get it all done? Tell me please! How do I keep my energy up?
I also use lists. Chore list, running shopping list, menu lists, task lists, and on and on. It seems to be the only way to keep me from being a frazzled mess!
I’m willing to try anything at this point. I have 2(3 & 1) and another one on the way next month. I only work from home 10 hrs a week, but I feel like I’m at the end of my rope. I want to let God guide how many we have, but I’m so scared I’ll pull my hair out. I have lists, goals and plan BUT how do you not get overwhelmed.
