Diva Cup – Review and Giveaway

I have heard quite a bit around the blogging world about the new Diva Cup. I have heard how it made your monthly cycle much more easy to manage, how it decreased a woman’s cramps, and how it saved money each and every month on the purchase of disposable feminine products. And I was intrigued. As a woman who has only had a handfull of cycles in the last ten years due to pregnancy and extended nursing the idea of not having to run out to the store when my body finally decided to cycle was also appealling. So, this past month I had the priveldge to use the Diva Cup. And I loved it!!

Diva Cup comes in 2 models. You can find a model to fit your needs on their website.

Here is a little more information from their website –

The DivaCup is a non-absorbent menstrual cup that simply collects menstrual flow. It is inserted in the vagina and sits at the lower base of the vaginal canal. It is worn internally, yet because it is soft and smooth, it cannot be felt nor will it leak when inserted properly.

The DivaCup is the most clean and convenient method of feminine hygiene protection. No need to touch the flow. It is worn low in the vagina, not near the cervix, so it is easy to remove. No mess!

The DivaCup ends hassles with unreliable disposables in endless absorbencies, shapes and styles. It is perfect for all activities – giving women true freedom without the worry, guessing and unreliability that disposable feminine hygiene products pose.

The DivaCup can be worn for up to 12 hours before emptying, washing and reinserting for use for another 12 hours. It can be used for light or moderate flows and is emptied more often to accommodate heavy flows. Perfect for overnight use.

The DivaCup’s expert, proprietary, patent-pending features make it comfortable and assures ease of use and reliability. Perfect for traveling, running, biking, hiking, dancing, camping, swimming, diving, scuba, yoga, extreme sports and more…

  • Latex-free, BPA-free, plastic-free
  • No dyes, colors or additives
  • Comfortable, reliable
  • Clean, convenient, easy-to-use
  • Worn for up to 12 hours at a time
Made from soft silicone the Diva Cup is very comfortable to wear.

I am a woman that has a SUPER HEAVY flow. I am talking like don’t leave the house, wear the thickest tampon with the thickest pad and visit the bathroom every hour kind of flow. And yet with the Diva Cup I was able to do my normal activities and I didn’t have to think about changing, cleaning up after, or wearing any of those disposable products. I was able to go almost twelve hours without emptying!! It was so freeing. And bathroom trips were way less messy.

It did take a few tries to get the cup inserted correctly but with the detailed instructions that are given I soon felt like a pro and I couldn’t even feel the cup in place. Overall I am very impressed with this product and I am looking forward to many more years of using a Diva Cup.

You can buy a Diva Cup online HERE or find a store near you HERE that sells the Diva Cup.

Thanks for the info and your experience! I’m so intrigued but not sure about the investment. I did like you on FB – looking forward to more valuable info. Thanks.

  3. I follow you on Facebook and I wanted to say that I used one this past month and it went great! Just like you I have a very heavy flow and with the Diva Cup I didn’t have to worry about it at all. I actually had less cramps, no funk(as in smell) and a more manageable period. It was great. We actually went to a street festival all day and I didn’t even think about whether I was leaking or had to find a bathroom to change pads. I also felt great because I didn’t have to worry about running out of pads or of adding to the landfills. So all of you should definitely get one if you don’t win!

  4. I don’t know if I am ready for this or not yet. But I have to comment on your comment about your flow. I have had similar issues. I saw Dr. Hilgers at the Pope Paul institute and found out I had really low progesterone. I wish I had caught it sooner because it can make a mom pretty ill. I am now on bio identical and feel loads better and this issue is resolved. Just thought I would share. None of my regular OBs new anything about it and wanted to put me on the pill which I dont do. Blessings! thanks for posting.

  5. Now Following via GFC! I’ve been curious about this for a while, so THANK YOU for the review and the chance to win! :)
